DocuSign - What happens to my account or envelopes when I transfer to another department?

Summary

As long as you are actively associated with the university and have an active eID, eID password, and eID@vcu.edu email address in your eID record, you will be able to access your VCU DocuSign portal and send envelopes. Your department may request a custody transfer of all envelopes you had ever sent during your time in the department. Once custody has been transferred, you will no longer have access to those envelopes.

Solution

DocuSign is an electronic signature solution for legally binding, legally immutable agreements and contracts, and every envelope you send is a permanent record of VCU business in the VCU DocuSign domain accounts. Your account portal grants you permission to send envelopes on behalf of the university's business, and the university owns every envelope you send. As a sender of envelopes on the VCU DocuSign domain, you have temporary custody of the envelopes for the purposes of managing the university's business associated with each envelope you sent. At any point, your department may request a transfer of the custody of those envelopes to another individual's account or to the department's generic account. Once custody has been transferred, you will no longer have access to those envelopes.
