Problem: My Computer is Damaged or Broken

Summary

There is something physically wrong with the hardware of a computer. It does not seem like a software problem.

Symptoms

There is physical damage to the computer or accessories. This could mean a broken or cracked screen, dents, keys that do not type smoothly, spilled liquid, bent or frayed power cords, a swollen battery, or other problems. The computer might not turn on or have no video.

Environment

Dell and Apple laptop and desktop computers.

Solution

Dell and Apple computers that need hardware repairs or part replacement can be taken to VCU's fixIT service counter. FixIT is located inside Ramtech in the VCU Bookstore on the Monroe Park Campus. 

Hours:

Monday - Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday - Sunday: Closed
