NOTE: (Clinical, other departments dealing with HIPAA or sensitive data, and Technology Services are under Google Mobile Device Management. Mobile setup instructions for these departments differ and can be found here: Google MDM Setup Instructions)
CAUTION: All devices configured with VCU Google Workspace accounts should be secured with a pin code or password.
- Download Gmail from your device's app store.
- Open the Gmail app, then look for the scenario that applies to you below:
- If no account has previously been added to any Google Workspace application on your device, you will be prompted to add a new account. Select Google if prompted, then go to the next step.
- If you have another Google Workspace application with your VCU account already added, you may be prompted to select Continue, then enable the existing VCU account (and other accounts if desired), then select Done to complete the process.
- If not prompted, select the profile picture icon in the top right corner of the screen, then Add another account, then Google (for Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet) or go under the ≡ menu icon in the top left corner, then select Manage accounts, then Add another account (for Google Calendar,) then go to the next step.
- In the Email or Phone field, enter your email address. (eID@vcu.edu)
- Select Next
- Enter your VCU eID and Password. If prompted, complete the 2-Factor authentication.
- If prompted with Terms of Service, select Agree.
