Personally Owned Devices
- Visit https://portal.office.com and sign-in with your VCU eID email address (Ex. eID@vcu.edu). If prompted, select the “Work or school account” option.
- Once signed-in, look on the right side of the page and click the “Install Office” button. A dropdown menu should appear. Select the “Microsoft Office 365 apps” option and wait for the installer to completely download to your computer.
- Once downloaded, run the installer on your computer.
- After installing, sign-in using your VCU eID email address. You may be prompted to select the type of account again. Be sure to select the “Work or school account” option.
VCU Owned Devices
Microsoft Office 365 is available for free to use on personally-owned devices. The license covers installation of the Microsoft Office 365 desktop and mobile applications on up to five Windows or macOS devices and up to five mobile devices running iOS or Android.

*Students Only who are not a part of the School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, or School of Dentistry. (VCU Employees and students employed at VCU do NOT have access to OneDrive)
**Microsoft Access is only available on Windows devices
