Symptoms

When trying to log into a VCU owned computer, you are unable to login with your eID and password.

Environment

  • Windows
  • Windows login

Solution

  1. Make sure you are using only your eID (not your email address) and your eID password
  2. If on campus:
    1. Make sure the computer is connected to the internet and the domain is set to the RAMS domain at the bottom of the login screen
      1. If it is not connected to the internet, submit an IT Support Ticket or call the IT Support Center.
    2. You can try to force the domain by entering RAMS\ before your eID (ex: RAMS\rodneyram)
      1. This will not work if there is no internet
    3. Try restarting the computer
  3. If off campus:
    1. See How to sync your eID password with your VCU windows computer while off-campus

If you continue to have issues or get a locked message, please contact the IT Support Center for further assistance.
