Additional Information
For Student Password Resets
To enhance security for VCU community members and safeguard institutional data, the IT Support Center will only have three data elements available for verifying a student’s identity during an eID password reset. Going forward, community members can choose two out of three options to verify their identity: date of birth, VCU V number (V#), and VCUCard number. Two of these three options must be presented for password resets. If someone is unsure of their V#, they can log into Banner Self-service (eServices) to retrieve their V# and securely store it. For password resets due to being locked out, individuals who do not know their V# should contact through their VCU email account or visit the Office of the University Registrar in person to obtain their V# if they have lost it or do not have access to the V#.
If a VCUCard is lost or unavailable, a replacement VCUCard can be obtained in person at the Campus Card Services (CCS) at either the Monroe Park or MCV office campus. VCUCard identification numbers are never shared for security and safety reasons. For additional information, visit VCU’s IT Support Center or reach out via telephone at 828-2227 or via email at itsc@vcu.edu.
For Employee Password Resets
To enhance security for VCU community members and safeguard institutional data, the IT Support Center will only have three data elements available for verifying an employee’s identity during an eID password reset. Community members can choose two out of three options to verify their identity: date of birth, VCU V number (V#), and VCUCard number. Two of these three options must be presented for password resets. You must obtain your V# by logging into Banner Self-Service (eServices) and storing it in a secure place that only you can access. Employees who do not know their V# should contact their HR Professional for password reset or account modifications.
A replacement VCUCard can be obtained in person at the Campus Card Services (CCS) office. VCUCard identification numbers are never shared for security and safety reasons. For additional information, visit VCU’s IT Support Center or reach out via telephone at 828-2227 or via email at itsc@vcu.edu.
