How to request a DUO hardware token

Summary

If you cannot authenticate with Duo 2Factor in any way (such as having an incompatible smartphone or landline only or you cannot download the DUO Mobile app), follow these instructions.

Solution

  • If you cannot use the DUO Mobile app, you can pick up a hardware token for free by visiting the IT Support Center or fixIT. For hours and location, go to https://go.vcu.edu/itsc or https://ts.vcu.edu/about-us/desktop-computing/fixit/. 
  • If you are not local to the Richmond area or otherwise cannot come to campus, call 804-828-2227 and request one of the following:
    1. A proxy pickup on your behalf
      1. The proxy must be VCU-affiliated
      2. Be prepared to provide the name and eID of the proxy
    2. Shipping
      1. A valid U.S. mailing address is required for delivery
