Summary

The Yellow ERTS phones are place outside of a building through out the University campus and Health Center campus and parking decks with an Amber flashing light above it. Inside VCU buildings they will be red. These phones are used in Emergency situations when VCU Police or Fire Departments are needed.

Environment

All Monroe Park Campus, VCU Health Center buildings, Parking Decks, Child Care Centers, Student Commons, Cabel Library and inside some buildings where they are Red.

Solution

These yellow emergency telephones are installed with an Amber light that is flashing above them so they can be found quickly, are used in emergency situations where the VCU Police are needed.  The phones operate by touching the big red button and the Red or Green indicator light will come on, and automatically dial a pre-programmed number that will ring inside of the VCU Police's Emergency Communications Center.

Additional Information

These phones are tested daily and if one is found not active or faulty, VCU Telecommunications must be notified.
